Publishing a book is a long and careful process with plenty of hurdles to entry, but nothing is more rewarding than seeing your book in print, on book shelves, or in the hands of loved ones and colleagues. How do you negotiate the steps?

You may have spent years writing the manuscript and gone through countless re-writes. Is your book property fit to publish? Who is the right publisher? How do you get the manuscript onto the right editor’s desk. What happens next? Is there a cost involved? Who negotiates copyrights, foreign publishing rights, film adaptation rights, digital rights?

EWRKS’ Literary Agency is your first step. Finding the right editor and book publisher requires knowledge, experience and connections -- and shear hard work. We offer manuscript advice and if your book property meets our requirements we will represent you and begin the process to get your book published.

There are many different types of publishers and editors. Some publishers specialize in literary fiction or nonfiction, others publish specific genres such as thriller, mystery, science fiction or children’s books for example. You may have a nonfiction property such as a biography, something related to history, photography, art, a cook book or a diet book. Some editors just correct for spelling, grammar and punctuation errors. Others work carefully with the manuscript to suggest minor to major changes to the plot, tone, character development, structure and length of the book. It is important that you the author and the editor be compatible on both a personal level and a stylistic level.
